Abstract Guideline
-
The competition is open to:
-
All states/ Programs/ Hospital/ Institutions under the Ministry of Health, Malaysia who is implementing Lean at their facilities
-
Universities and industries that have Lean projects
-

A project may be submitted for POSTER PRESENTATION if it meets all the following criteria:
-
It is a quality improvement initiative that applies the Lean philosophy and methodology.
-
It has not been presented at any national or international level convention/conference/seminar
-
Abstract content
-
Title
-
It must be clear and preferably concise. There is no limit on the number of words used for title
-

Area/department
-
The place where Lean is implemented must be stated i.e hospital, health clinic, research institute
-

Background and problem statement:
-
Must reflect the client/patient's expectation
-
Must be measurable (can put any KPIs to be followed)
-

Value Stream Mapping (VSM):
-
State briefly the actual processes in the VSM
-
Identify/Describe the processes gathered from the VSM as the value-added activities, non-value-added activities, or value enabler activities
-
Mention the process time, inventory, First Time Quality (FTQ), Waiting Time, manpower
-

Root Cause Analysis
-
Describe the analysis undertaken to determine the root cause of the problem. The participant can state what tools were used for example Fishbone diagram, 5 Whys, Affinity Diagram

Countermeasures & Action Plan:

Describe the kaizen and its execution

Explain the performance achievement before and after kaizen execution

Sustainability

Describe the follow-up plan

A maximum of 8 authors is allowed

The text of the abstract must not exceed 300 words

Please do not include any graphs, tables, or figures in the abstract

Instruction for poster guideline
-
If your abstract is accepted, the presenter is responsible for preparing and printing the poster to bring to the conference at their own expense.
-
Please prepare the poster according to this requirement:​
-
Poster size A0 (Width 841mm x 1189mm) in portrait orientation
-
The recommended minimum font size for the poster is 12
-
The poster must be displayed on the allocated exhibition board according to the assigned tagging number on 11th August 2025
-
The presenter should obtain the poster tagging number from the Secretariat Room before mounting the poster on the exhibition board
-

The poster judging sessions will be on the 12th of August 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm
-
All posters must be removed by 13th August 2025, 4 pm​​​​​​

Submission​
-
Kindly note that presenters must register for the conference before the event
-
​Failure to register on time will result in the withdrawal of their abstracts from the conference program
-
Please ensure the email address provided is accurate
-
Submitters could select their preferred presentation type. However, the final presentation type could be modified per the committee's arrangements
-
Successful candidates will be notified of their abstract acceptance via email by 5th May 2025
-
Authors whose abstracts are accepted must complete registration and payment for the scientific conference before the specified deadline​
-
All accepted abstracts require approval for presentation by the Director General of Health Malaysia. The conference secretariat will facilitate the approval process. Thus, presenters do not need to apply for approval individually

The oral presentation has to be accompanied by an ABSTRACT as a pre-requisite before entry into the oral competition​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Must reflect the client/patient's expectations
